Hey guys. I hope you all had a nice day. Well, just to say, I had a nice day. Today I decided to give us tips, on how to continue to go through this present lockdown situation. To be honest, I didn’t expect it to extend this far, but here we are. So I guess we have to make the best out of it. Some of the tips I’ll be giving out are the ones I’ve tried out and to be honest, they’ve all worked out for me. So here goes;
1. DO WHAT YOU LOVE DOING BEST.
To be honest, I believe this is one of the most effective ways to get through this lockdown. Utilise this lockdown to do what you love doing best. You have all the time, because you are staying at home and not going anywhere.
I know that this lockdown came with many disadvantages that have affected our normal day. But let’s make the best out of it. For me, I’ll say that this lockdown has given me more time to focus on building my blog and improving my writing skills. I really didn’t have time for my blog then, because I was so busy. I have to admit, I almost couldn’t publish a post in a month because I didn’t have the time. Well, guess what? Now I do.
What do you love doing? Is it writing? Take a pen and start writing a book. Join a book club or you could just look for online jobs that accept free lance writers. You could get paid in the process by doing that. I won’t say open a blog because it’s obvious that you already have one. But I’ll say this; connect to your different social media outlets like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and many others to improve your traffic.
Do you love playing musical instruments? Download apps that will give you a better understanding of them. Attend online classes on the net and connect with fellow music lovers like you.
What do you love doing best? Use it and get through this lockdown.
2. EXPLORE NEW SKILLS.
I believe that this lockdown provides an avenue for us as individuals to learn new skills. Skills which will help us during and after the lockdown. Exploring new skills makes you discover things about yourself that you don’t know.
You have a skill already? That’s nice. Well, get another one!!!! Don’t just stay on one thing. Explore other things that can you use to utilise your time at home. Search the net and find something that captures your interest. Think bigger than where you are now. And when you acquire a new skill, don’t just keep it to yourself. Share it with others and learn what they know in return.
If you can’t learn new skills from the internet, then ask a friend. Don’t hesitate to ask for help from anyone. No man is an island. Therefore, two heads are better one.
3. INTERACT WITH OTHER PEOPLE TO KNOW HOW THEY FEEL TOO.
You are not the only one being kept at home in this lockdown, we all are. Talk with people to know how they feel and what they’re going through in this global crisis. I’ve talked to a few already and to be honest, they’re positive responses made me to reflect. Although they are feeling bad about it, as it has cut off their plans, they’ve been able to see the positive side in it.
To be honest, when the lockdown started, I really felt bad as all my plans had to be moved. But having interacted with others and knowing how they felt about the whole situation, I came to the realisation that I wasn’t alone and I decided to see and utilise the advantage the lockdown brought.
Talk to friends and fellow bloggers. Ask them questions, share your ideas and opinions about the lockdown. Start by asking questions like;
- How have you been coping since the lockdown began?
- What has the lockdown denied you?
- Would you say that the lockdown brought an advantage with it?
- What are your plans after the lockdown?
And many more questions you can think of.
4.TAKE A WALK.
Ha ha ha. I know this may sound strange but it actually works. Take a walk around your street to clear your head. Feel the breeze on your face and refresh your mind. If you can’t do that, then try and work out at home. Don’t just sit down all day. Get up and pull your legs a little bit.
It’s better when you do it with someone. I’ll recommend someone that lives next to you, since you can’t freely visit a friend in this lockdown. Talk to your neighbour about it and both of you can try it out.
While doing this, engage in lively conversations so that it won’t bore you. Talk about the present situation and maybe crack a few jokes. It’ll help take your mind off things that bother you.
5. BE POSITIVE. STAY POSITIVE.
This pandemic will end soon. So Instead of filling your head with the negative news about the virus, try to fill it with the good ones. The percentage of people that have been cured supersedes those that have died. In some countries, the kids are already going back to school. People are are gradually returning to their place of work and the lockdown is partially being lifted.
Be optimistic about the situation, not pessimistic. See the bright side in it, not the bad side. Fill your head with positive thoughts not negative thoughts. Engage in healthy conversations about the pandemic and try to reassure yourself that it’ll all be over soon. Be positive. Stay positive.
Well guys, I guess I’ll be stopping here today. Feel free to share other tips on how to go through this lockdown. Feel free to share your thoughts, contributions and opinions as well. Till next time. Adios.

Really great post. Really enjoyed reading it. I totally agree with what you have mentioned. What works best for me is keeping active going for a run or play sing badminton or basketball

The best thing I’ve done during lockdown is a daily walk! It helps so much just to get out and get some fresh air

That’s very true. I love the feeling of fresh air on my face. But I haven’t been able to walk on my street. So I just work out and walk around my house.

Wonderful tips. I bought a sewing machine in lockdown so I could teach myself how to sew. Love learning new things! 🙂

Thanks. I also love learning new skills.
I was able to pick out one or two things on sewing and baking during this lockdown.
